BEWARE of servicers who charge a fee to diagnose your TV or Computer, then
tell you it's not worth repairing. There are a growing number of business who
hire low paid un-knowledgeable people who claim to be technicians, their job
is to simply collect the service call / diagnostic fee for telling you your item is
not worth repair and if the fake technician works for a company who sells new
TV's , the service call will quickly become a sales pitch to get you to come into
their store and buy a new TV.
It is true that in some instances it doesn't make sense to fix an old TV, however
in the majority of cases even old TV's can be fixed and if you are paying for an
estimate don't just take "you need a new tv" for an answer ask the technician to
show you the parts that are bad and explain what they do, this will give you
some sense of the technicians skills and ability. Also ask the technician about
his/hers training and experience.
The technology doctor doesn't sell new TV's nor do we sell new computers, we
have no reason to sell you a new unit. We do all service in your home so you
can see what we're doing and we don't mind if you look over our shoulder while
we work! We will explain what went wrong, why we think it happened and if
there might have been a way to avoid it.
